Rena Conner
Partner

Rena's understanding of clients' needs is based on direct experience. Prior to joining the agency in 2000, she was a client, where she quickly recognized the unique strengths of Rainmaker & Sun and the agency's ability to provide truly integrated marketing services across many platforms.

Her decision to join as Partner has yielded significant results: By helping clients define, position and mobilize their assets, clients accomplish their marketing goals in an effective and efficient manner. Her efforts have inspired long-standing working relationships with an average of 4 to 5 years, and have helped to grow agency business by more than 300% and establish a national presence.

Her effectiveness in this arena has also helped to significantly increase ROI for Rainmaker & Sun clients such as Advanced Bionics, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Optics Laboratory, Agensys, Medtronic, LARTA, Janus/SpeechEasy and the City of West Hollywood.

Rena attributes much of her success to a team approach combined with a "grassroots" integrated marketing philosophy. For example, while serving as Marketing Director for a biotech company involving Cryotechnology, she developed positioning strategies to create new markets for an emerging treatment. She enhanced awareness at the medical professional level by launching a multifaceted campaign designed to educate and generate strategic partnerships, and at the patient level by implementing a campaign called "The Drive Against Prostate Cancer." It became, and still is, the nation's largest mobile prostate screening program for men. Her efforts contributed to a 450% increase in the company's valuation in a two-year period.

Rena is noted for her work at Johnson and Johnson, Medtronic, Cordis and Arterial Vascular Engineering. In 1995 Rena was awarded for establishing a definitive presence in new markets for Cordis Corporation. Moreover, in 1996 she won the leadership award for Cordis' endovascular division. She received her BA in Public Relations and a Masters Degree in Cross-Cultural Communication, with emphasis in Planned Social Change, from the University of Oklahoma at the age of 22. She then went on to obtain her second postgraduate degree, an MBA, from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Technion Society, is married and resides in Beverly Hills.
